HTML Valid Flash Embed – How To

July 10th, 2010

When displaying a Flash multimedia object or application on your website and you’re trying to adhere to the W3C valid guidelines for HTML, you’ll notice the default flash embedding procedure endorsed by Adobe is not HTML valid.

In this example, you can embed your flash file and still have your website validate perfectly:

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="images/flash.swf" width="420" height="150">
<param name="movie" value="images/banner.swf" />
<img src="banner.gif" width="420" height="150" alt="banner" />

and that’s it! Happy validating.

How the Nightvision Goggles for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are Made – Inside Factory Photos

September 14th, 2009

Lots of videogames come out with “special edition” packages, usually bundled with some extra trinkets – but never really that cool (with the exception of a few). The most recently popularized special edition was from Grand Theft Auto 4 – including a duffle bag (sweet), lockbox, illustrated book, and the CD soundtrack set.
GTA4

However… Quite possibly the coolest special edition set is coming out this year by EA with their highly popular First Person Shooter, Call of Duty. With this special edition set that comes with their newest release, Modern Warfare 2, you get real nightvision goggles ( just what you want kids running around with at night time, right?). Either way, we think it’s totally badass. Our hats off to the folks at EA for this, no matter what they say about your work environment.
